Figure of the Month
May 2006: Elmer Sneezeweed

Figure Name: Elmer

Date Created: Unknown

Created by: Frank Marshall

Used by: Max Terhune

Trivia:
1. Elmer's donation was facilitated by ventriloquist Stu Scott.
2. The museum's Elmer was an original "backup" copy, carved--like the original--by Frank Marshall. Terhune DID perform with this figure.
3. Later, Terhune gave the figure to Scott, who donated the figure to Vent Haven in 1982.
4. According to the Internet Movie Database, Terhune appeared—both with and without Elmer--in over 70 motion pictures and television shows from 1936-1956.
5. It has often been pointed out that Elmer bears a close resemblance to the The Great Lester's Frank Byron, Jr.
6. Elmer's original name was Skully, but he was given the name "Elmer Sneezeweed" when he appeared in his first western, and the name stuck.

7. Elmer is on display in Building One of the museum, and thus is not visible in any of the QuickTime Virtual Pans of the Museum.
